Plaid MS visits Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre

Cefin Campbell MS, Plaid Cymru Member of the Senedd for Mid & West Wales recently visited the Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre on Wind Road to learn more about the valued work the charity has been providing during the pandemic.

On his visit, Mr Campbell MS met with Centre Manager, Keiron Burke, and trustee Sally Speed, who gave Mr Campbell a tour of the site and discussed the various services offered on site to the local community. The centre includes a second-hand furniture re-sell store, paint shop, and has recently received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund Wales to help develop a community café.

The centre also hosts the local food bank, which has provided support for those in need during the pandemic.

Speaking after the visit, Cefin Campbell MS said:

“I welcomed the opportunity to visit the Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre, and learn more about the important services and support they are providing for the local community.

‘In particular, I would like to thank the centre and the community’s work in hosting the food bank, which has been an invaluable avenue of support for many families who have faced real hardship over recent months. I know many in the community greatly value the work the centre does, and I would like to wish it well for the future, particularly with their exciting development plans.”
